We were out last night, so in the end, who hosted with little Dec? Not one of my favourite shows, a bit too false and shouty for me, but I am just curious.

I'm not suggesting he has no right to make a mistake (though he does seem to have made more than one). I'm suggesting his partner should not suffer as a result.

Nothing I said earlier is judgemental (which seems to be akin to drowning a sack full of kittens these days). Mr McPartlin is, on his own admission, alcoholic and has been charged (albeit not convicted, I accept) with a serious criminal offence. Tell me where the harshness comes in. Providing tea and sympathy to alcoholics who drive cars is not in my toybox. Providing the same to people who rely on them for their careers is.
has he said alcoholic ? think he said problem.. bit different..however..lets not kick a man down
"There but for the Grace of God" does not apply to most people, especially those with £60m in the bank. There should be no sympathy. He has the wealth and the resources to sort himself out. What he seems to lack is the will.
I'm with mm on this. And Dec is hosting the last two shows ALONE.

Dec and his wife are also expecting their first baby.
Call me soft if you like, but I feel sorry for Ant. It's not easy to pull yourself together when you're falling hopelessly apart. I wouldn't imagine Dec's angry with him - just worried. That's what real friends do when their friends are in trouble.

Should we not decry the driver of the above in case he has 'problems'?
"...has he said alcoholic ?"

Why else would he be returning to rehab? Why else would he have gone into rehab previously? I don't think there's too much doubt. He's down because of his own lack of will, but I'm not kicking him, I'm simply telling it as it is instead of dressing it up in claptrap.
I don't think NJ realises that normal rules don't apply. This isn't some drunk driver who could have killed a child, this is a celebrity who many viewers feel sorry for!
Agree naomi.
NJ, when people are unwell, will is not an easy thing to summon up. Easy to stand on the side-lines saying they should, of course, but somewhat more difficult to do. Proof positive in his case that money can't buy everything - health included.
he has gone into rehab because he feels he has failed and let folk down and wants to set his life straight ..in my opinion.. he is in a dark place ... who has not been there let cast the stone..give him a chance.. because he is in the public eye he has become a target.. he is prepared to face the consequences of what has happened.. give him space I wish him well
going back to my reply in the other page, only because I had to prove to myself I seen it somewhere, here's a link that they are kind of finished as far as Im A Celebrity goes http://www.beat102103.com/news/ant-and-dec-out-of-the-jungle-for-good/
I agree with naomi and minty- i doubt he wanted this any more than anyone else did. I hope he gets better soon.
i doubt he wanted this any more than anyone else did.

If that were true, he would not have driven his car smashed out of his head.
You believe it was a deliberate act for what purpose, Talbot?
Where have I said that?
Talbot ..BEHAVE and get to the step..stop being a troublesome wee worm....or i will come and get you !
At 17:47. I said he didn't want it to happen and you disagreed...
By some of us, he is being treated on here in the same manner as anyone who drove while drunk and smashed into a car with a child in it would be treated. By others, he is being treated as a special case.
I don't want to risk the lives of the public more than Ant ... hence I never drive when hissed.
