I only started watching Homeland at the beginning of the previous series, and wonder what the significance of the strange animal is when it comes to the adverts. Can anyone explain please. I do enjoy it very much.

I've never seen it but if your question has got anything to do with the lion mask there have been plenty of theories https://www.reddit.com/r/homeland/comments/2ojrj7/significance_of_girl_with_lion_mask_in_title/ but apparently there's no real meaning to it:...

Hellywelly, you’ve missed the best of Homeland if you’ve just started watching it. The first 3 series were brilliant, when Damian Lewis was in it.

One stopped watching it at the end of each episode, with your mouth open in, shock/horror.

Fantastic!! I can really recommend the box sets.
It was a superb for the first three series, since then it's become very ordinary but still worth watching. I find that every new series I have to find a synopsis of the previous one. Certainly would recommend that you watch 1-3, get plenty of Kleenex!
