Sounds like a good idea to me but, obviously, not to AOG.
The beginning of what?

My own church hosts several interfaith services a year and the congregation is invited to similar services in local mosques and temples.
“Whatever your background you can be assured of a warm welcome to our services and our Parish life.”

sounds fine to me.
I'm a great fan of faiths coming together and to share spaces in this way is sensible and encourages more interaction between different groups.

Benefits the whole community.
Mamya's got it. :)
I wish that AOG would get it.
Sickening. Oldham is the hole where the Imam preaches before the council meetings start.
Anyone who thinks all this Kumbaya nonsense
is OK hasn't got a clue what's going on here.
Go to an Islamic country and try it.
The beginning of the end of stamping out right wing thinking.

Yes there are predominately Asian, white, black and Jewish areas which I’ve lived in and are great melting pots and fusions of cultures, colours m, foods, music and dress senses.

Your point is?
Spicerack, ever since Oldham Council was formed they have held prayers before council meetings. Every year the mayor elects the Mayor's Chaplain to facilitate this and the Chaplains have come from different faiths.
This year Mayor Derek Heffernan appointed a Christian, Reverend Graham Hollowood, as Chaplain and he will lead the prayers.
AOG possibly meant the beginning of a more tolerant and understanding society, I’m sure.
ZM, wrong category, should be in jokes.
99% of AOGs posts should danny.
ZM, don't think that his views are a joking matter/
Do you now AOG, that you have become so predictable in your prejudices, that I could have guessed who had made his post, without reading your ID ?

This seems like a splendid idea to me.....its all about building bridges within our communities. If every Church did this, then maybe Britain wouldn't be full of so much hatred as it is.

And Spicy...usual loads of cobblers from you I see, but hardly unexpected.
I doubt that loitering around in a church for a few minutes will soften the hearts of the true believers, Mikey.

Good PR though, something to point to when it all goes a bit Pete Tong next time.

And I don't suppose you are predictable yourself?

Prejudices towards The Tories,
Prejudices towards Brexit,
Prejudices towards Trump,
Prejudices towards Nigel Farage,
Need I go on?

I’m sure we can all agree that “Nigel Farage” is a dangerous nut job
Now you’re talking sense Jules.

AOG, what is it the beginning of?
AOG there is a difference between disagreement and predjudice.
