... the smell of charred flesh from 1001 BBQs is filling the Northants air tonight.

I love it - and am now feeling hungry enough to eat an Ox - but the veggies must be sat indoors knitting their muesli with the windows tightly shut :)

Never been to an ox roast but I once went to a pig roast in Worcestershire. I could have eaten the whole pig.

I can't smell meat on BBQs...I just get the BBQ smell regardless of what is cooking.

I found a couple of Wagyu Burgers in the freezer earlier today - quite wonderful they are.

Now defrosted and waiting to be griddled - probably served with some stir fried Thai veg and crusty bread :)

Now for a nice sea bass or fresh mussels cooked on the BBQ......yum.

Much as I think vegetarians are misguided, I'd rather have one around any day in preference to a vegan. They are a nightmare.

you are right there Jack..have vegan friends and it's a nightmare..can't even make tea or coffee for them without special milk ! no biccies either !! or cake..or any wee snackie cheese nibbles..no choccies..no puds..no crisps etc ..nowt..an' I'm not going to nibble on beans and pulses with black tea for anybody !!

If that's the way they want to live then so be it. However I think it extremely selfish of them to expect their prospective hosts to pander to their every whim. They certainly wouldn't pander to my whims. If you want to be like that then fine, stay at home and don't bother normal people.
