Just switched on the tv here in Bergerac to discover that the French call the programme 'Inspector Barnaby'.
No question, just for interest.

That is actually Midsomer murders....
Yes indeed. Midsomer Murders is known as "Inspector Barnaby" in a number of foreign countries to which it is sold. That is why when Tom Barnaby (John Nettles) retired he had to be replaced by his cousin John (Neil Dudgeon) so it could remain as "Inspector Barnaby".

That was interesting.
Should that not be Chief Inspector Barnaby? BTW,since John Nettles and latterly Jason Hughes left it has lost much of its charm and interest.
John Nettles was a hard act to follow. He was excellent as Sgt. Bergerac too.

I didn't realise that John Nettles was in both programmes. Never seen them at length.
