There is precious little information to go on. No details of her speed, why she was driving whilst banned and the child may well have undone the seatbelt itself.
To draw a conclusion as to whether the penalty is commensurate with the crime is for the judge and jury (if appropriate) who were presented with all the facts.

This site is in its sixteenth year now - it started long before social media was the force it is today.
It is, and remains a family site, so ripe language is censored automatically - but posts are left as they are apart from that.
Posts are removed if they transgress Site Rules - going off-topic, or attempting to cause spats between AB'ers. That results in threads spinning into unpleasant exchanges, and for that reason they are taken out before they can develop further.
Hope that explains why the site runs as it does.

Four of my five grandchildren are past the age of Ms' Weeks' child, and when they were that age - and indeed now - they knew not to unfasten a seatbelt until the car was stationary, and they had asked and been given permission - so I dout that is the case here, most parents and grandparents put the rules in place from day one.
It may be that the child was not secured in a proper car seat, which is an offence.

Well we know the speed to be in excess of 50mph.The court knew she was driving whist disqualified. Usually it follows,or used to ,that a disqualified driver will not be insured. I noticed the CPS didn't pursue that one.The CPS are useless and will pursue the easiest course of action to them. If they can get a bit of plea bargaining arranged they may pursue just two of four potential driving offences.I cannot recall special conditions in law that allow a disqualified driver to disregard the suspension so that would stand. The speed was probably not disputed or challenged by the defendant.The others (offences) were not proeeded with.
