Are you referring to Freeze Out?
Question Author
yes
You've only got to look at the most popular TV programmes and the results in General Elections to gauge the intelligence of the great British public. ;o)
Q. What is the largest of the Channel Isles
A. The UK.
Another pointless classic:-)
I remember Chelsee Healey giving 4 wrong answers on Celebrity Pointless one being that gin jibe was an anagram of Belgium (a city hosting the Olympics)!!!
Answers are only 'obvious' when you know them. I would not have a clue what crossed swords meant on a map, would not know about a 'jack' ball as I don't play bowls and chukkas I guess would be polo but would not expect many people to know that. I could give you three questions whose answers would be 'obvious' to me that you p[probably would not have a clue about.
Ah now, mustn't call thick people thick. It usually upsets some ABers. Can't imagine why. ;)
Go on then, retro. No asking what you've got on the telly now though. ;)
Everyone is 'thick' on a sliding scale. I feel rather superior when I watch some popular quiz programmes but rather thick when watching University Challenge ;-)
Wish I could spare the time svek but life calls -that is a horse that needs exercising before the rain comes. Ta-Ra!
bye. ;o)
I love a good chukka of chess!
I love a good chukka cheese with a couple of pickled onions.
I only know that I tried many times to enter 'Millionaire'. I answered all the questions on the phone correctly (every time) - and was told that there was no room for me! Perhaps they deliberately pick the thickoes?
I just found out today that Westminster Abbey is actually named the Collegiate Church of St. Peter as Westminster...Now would have knowed that?:)

I think we're very lucky to have gollob on side, without him/her I would never have heard of Ice Breaker or Freeze Out, I mean how lucky can we get?
"at" not "as".
I think they do sometimes pick 'thickos' so that the viewers either feel superior or think they may have a chance as they can do better than that.
Having been on Fifteen to One many moons ago, I can tell you that when the camera points at you with a red light on your mind goes spins.
Freeze out is a show that both gives out money and has a silly, if possibly entertaining, gimmick going on. It's an entertaining show where the quiz element seems secondary. Not sure that it's meant to be a showcase for the fantastic abilities of top quiz players...
