Does anyone remember the name of this film.....I think it was a ghost story type. There is one particular part in it, it's dark and  you hear children singing in the street,  "All the girls come out to play the moon is shining bright as day" (think that's how it goes). As a kid I remember watching this and it frightened the life out of me. I think it was made in the 60's. Thanks.

Louuu! Hi! That's driving me mad now!  I can definetely see what you're describing, but can't remember it either.I think the words were "Girls and boys" come out to play, though, not "all the girls". Not being picky there, its just that  I think whatever it was, affected both boys and girls.....Oh this is awful now! What is it!!

Iyerrrrr Linda...I knew I'd get the lyrics wrong...lol. I think it was a little girl who was being haunted or something like that. I vaguely remember her getting out of the bed and going to the window and seeing these children in a "ringaringa roses" type of circle.
oh God I can remember that too! Was it definitely a film or a TV play? I can remember all the children coming into the streets at night. They alway have those sing-songy title songs that are really spooky don't they? Someone get it!

Hi mydogsandme.....I'm almost sure it was a film. This will do my head in all night now. :-)
Yes,a wee girl looking out the window down to an alley. Oh my husbby...a new word there btw! ..has just suggested "village of the damned" is it?
Question Author

Not that one Linda....Villiage of the damned had all these kids with blonde hair...they all looked the same.

BTW Linda, do you remember a film called "Our Mothers House".....that's one of my all time favs

No, not ringing any bells here, who was in it?

Erm can't remember anyone really famous in it, but it was about these children about 6 of them lived in this big house. Their mother died and they buried her in the garden. They used to go to the garden shed everynight and say prayers for their mother. The elder sister swore them all to secrecy and told them not to tell anyone that their mother had died. Their father came back on the scene...now he was famous, but for the life of me can't think of his name. He took over the house and started bringing all these women home.

It's Come Back Lucy, based on a novel by Pamela Sykes and shown on television in the seventies.

She stays with a relative and is visited by a ghost named Alice.

Linda I saw that thread today and looked at it..omg, I was sitting here going yeah I remember that....did Dot look at it btw.

No problem.

It was actually a drama series.

Sorry Lou dont remember the film.  But started to think about all the creepy films I've seen.  Salems Lot was really creepy and in the same vein I think was one with Betty Davis (when she was an old woman) in it.  And all the mens tongues and eyes were cut out in the village and she lived next door to a normal couple who just moved in and by the end his tongue etc were cut out - can you remember the name of that one.
Question Author

That Bette Davis film is "the dark secret of harvest home"...Love her!
