I enjoyed it too although surprised there didn't seem to be one candidate with a bit of oomph.
I love these sort of programmes.
Oh have i missed it? I thought it was on tomorrow.
just watcing it now. Very interesting. But don't see the need for the bad language from the men in charge. Swearing does not command respect.
PP can you remember when the last one was ?
Disastrous - by week 4 the star cadet had dropped out as a result of bullying.
All on camera

slow motion sort of christ what have we done television

This one I thought had been handled better -but still with surprises
The parents of one recruit - amazing they agreed to come on.

Caran - bad language - having worked in Plymouth - seems central to this.

In Night Runners of Bengal - an officer says: where is that pig's ass of a jemadar ? and I didnt really see anything different.

Nightrunner is set in 1857
Prudie - I didnt see any gurlz but that may be expected in the commandos

but they all seemed to be very white and spotty....

This is the first time I've watched this..the last one similar was called Lad's Army I think which was brilliant!
Peter I've 2 younger relatives who both went into the RM together, one still serving. They made out they were the tough guy elite mob, these guys in the programme came across as somewhat unmotivated and yes a bit wan and spotty. If they come out as elite tough guys at the end that can only suggest what a brilliant job the trainers do.
If anyone is still interested...number 1 in the series was last night and is being repeated tonight at 11:05 pm. There are 8 programmes in the series.
I did watch it and can only hope that subsequent episodes are stronger as last nights offering was a weak reflection of the first episode of a similar series from a few years ago.

Although they have to learn discipline and the right way to do things these NCO's seem to have an annoying edge to them.Although I have to say the rifle instructor did seem to be trying to show them the right way without all that swearing and I am the great I am nonsense.
Caran, I totally agree about the constant bad language which almost put me off.
