These offences came to light as a result of investigations into the Plebgate affair. The Police seem to be getting completely out of control.

Good morning mikey.

Blokes watching porno at work...........Christ!..get a life.
You do have a skill of exaggeration. Did you work as a headline writer for a red top?

Morning Sqad !

The aspect that I find astonishing about this is that the officers associated with Plebgate have been under suspicion for months, and you would have thought that the men involved would have at least tried to be extra squeaky clean. But instead, they appear to have carried on as usual. It would seem to me that the Police still think that they are in some way untouchable. Its this arrogance that I find depressing.

Custodiet ipsos custodes ?

Where have I exaggerated zacs ? One of the officers arrested for possessing extreme porn was already on restricted duties due to Plengate !
The Ipcc.
I wonder what constitutes 'extreme pornographic images'? Whatever else they've done they seem to have shown very poor judgement.

The Police are in a complete shambles, mostly due to their own lack of judgement. They can't even lie convincingly.
Your original statement is great. Punchy with a hint of humour and worthy of comment at first glance but then you shoot yourself in the foot with a silly, unjustifiable and clearly inaccurate comment such as 'The Police seem to be getting completely out of control.' The police are a huge body of people doing, largely, an enormous amount of good which most people realise so, in my eyes at least, comments such as that make me think you have a chip on your shoulder about the police and your just having a go rather than wanting a meaningful discussion.

No sqad - if you were caught downloading porn at work - in your case the NHS - you would be dismissed and the GMC would be striking you off

whilst of course (the GMC that is) ringing no 10 and screaming down the phone -
we've got the porn-squad ! where are our knighthoods ?

get a life - you cant do porn at work - every fule kno that now

MPTS site will tell you what your colleagues are getting up to in your retirement.
sqad MPTS will tell you what your naughty naughty colleagues are doing including the plastic surgeon who was I regret photographing genital areas in the anaesthetic room of anaesthetised patients....
there was a consent issue....
PP....just a guess, mind you........if all the NHS staff," caught" watching porn on duty were dismissed, the NHS would collapse overnight...........just a guess mind you.
How old are you, Mikey?
This comes up regularly in law

can the employer monitor your use of work thingeys like phones ?
yeah within reason

The raison de demander (if you like) was that they wished to monitor meta-data and see if there had been calls from pleb-squad to the fella darn sarth was who writing his see-and-tell-email at that very moment !
That would show conspiracy ..... and there was none.
People HAVE been dismissed for downloading porn to NHS work computers, sqad - I've seen it happen in my own organisation.

The point that I am making here is that despite being under investigation and suspicion over the Plebgate affair, one Officer at least, still thought it was a good idea to continue handling these extreme pornographic images. Its the sheer arrogance of the Police involved in this that amazes me. It points to a culture that thinks that it is beyond the reach of criticism, impeachment, or attack.

Again I ask....Custodiet ipsos custodes ?
boxy.....of course.....but only the people that were caught were dismissed.
Remember back in the day when they'd beat false confessions out of people?

I really don't think the police are out of control.
Question Author
ummmm...what is the relevance of your question ? There is a serious issue around the continuing trustability of our Police. They are there to serve and protect us.
And again I answer....The IPCC. And you keep missing 'quis' off the front of your Latin.
