I get an adrenaline rush when i watch horror films, i love it. I cannot remember what the most scariest was that i have seen, as i don't really get that scared.

poltergeist scared the s out of me if you'll excuse the french
'The Ring' scared me but I do have flashbacks about 'The Sixth Sense' especially if I have to get up and come downstairs at night.
When you say scary do you mean the most blood thirsty? or even the most horrific scenes? I don't mind being scared but I just hate torture and sickening scenes.

I mean scary as in really terrifies you so you cannot go to the kitchen and toilet alone, and your heart beats 10 to a dozen when you hear a sound.
May i suggest two,the first is the original black and white "The Haunting"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057129/?ref_=nv_sr_6,always gets the hairs up on the back of my head, and the second is "The Changeling"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080516/,both very good scary films.
Sinister, The Ring, The Amityville Horror, Drag Me to Hell, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Carrie - to name but a few of my favourites. :)
Can't remember the film, all I remember was a load of maggots in a dinner, some bloke, and then a lazer grid goes over his face, and his face falls on the table, it was an 80s movie, still haunts me now, never watched the film from there on,
Not a horror movie I know but Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!! The child catcher scared the bejabers out of me when I was young.

The grudge - american and japanese versions but mainly japanese; no one does horror like the japanese.
Just googled it, bugger me it was out in 1987, scared the crap out of me, hell raiser, thinking about it now is making me edgy, dunno if I can sleep now, why do you love to watch torture, blood and guts, i am just curious of what people find entertaining about them, x
The Ring and The Grudge. Also an old film called Peeping Tom was one I found scary.
China's avatar is frightning the crap out of me all ready, im off.
...... oo I've just thought of another one. It was a trilogy, and one starred Karen Black, whose boyfriend brought back a little Pygmy statue that came to life and was trying to slash at her feet from under furniture and doors with his spear. I used to run like hell across the bedroom to reach the bed for months after that. I still gives me the creeps if I think of it.
After watching one of the planet of the apes films where they were worshipping the atom bomb I have never watched a film since with out knowing the story line. That film gave me nightmares for weeks. I can't remember how old I was, in my teens I think. So horrors are definitely not on my play list.
The fall of the House of Usher, the original one ( Vincent Price ) watched on tv as a kid, jaysus that film freaked me out.
Oh yes Tonyav, that and The Premature Burial, both mega scary on their time, kids would probably hoot at them now.
The Exorcist scared me rigid, and I only watched thro' half shut eyes. LOL
Tonyav, is that where you can see her nails tearing as she tries to claw her way out of the coffin?
Was 'The Premature Burial' an Edgar Allen Poe story as well, ferlew ?.
