It's horrible they've done this, because they've pushed the true 'needy' people to the back of the limelight.

But the true needy are boring, struggling hard to manage. It's just a few that live like this I suspect
I haven't watched it all yet, don't want to get too annoyed before bedtime. I agree with you though, those not working at all appear to be better off than those holding down low paid jobs. Something is so wrong. It must be so demoralising for those people who are grafting but are still dirt poor and then there are those who think the world owes them a living - with their bloody dogs and getting their nails done, etc.

It goes without saying the Liverpool couple have been on jeremy Kyle

Twice
I truly despair, what morals are they installing in their kids? It reflects so badly on those genuinely in need (been there, got the t shirt - it's crap being reliant on the state and there is no cash for any sort of luxury (nor should there be) there's hardly any money to eat.
£66,000 a year, between twelve people is £5,500 each a year. That isn't actually a lot to live on. Not that I'm defending her, if she chose to have 11 children. It really should be a safety net, not a lifestyle choice. What would happen if we all did it? Maybe taxpayers should go on strike!
Cap benefits at 2 children after a 12 month safety net period.

Make claimants turn up all day, every day - at least until the amount they claim divided by the hours they attend for equals the minimum wage. I don't care how boring/futile this is - it should be part of the 'Lifestyle Choice'.

Treadmills to generate electricity would be a win/win solution - help with the power shortage and get some fat bastards a bit thinner and healthier.

Oh God - I think I've turned into The Daily Mail :+(
Dave, I agree, your post does have a hint of The Daily Fail about it (lol), but, I also agree with the whole 'cap on benefits' thing.
I suggested, during a dinner party the other night, that we do as China do and limit people to one child. This was met with horror... Lol

But... it would solve a lot of our problems.

I have no issues with people receiving government help that truly need it, but it should not be open to abuse.
Wasn't it the labour party in 1945 who invented the benefits system following the Beveridge report a few years earier and wasn't it the bankers who took charge of the global economy and allowed us to buy houses in 1970 for £5600 in 1970 and sell for £50000 + in the 1980's ? Result !
Baby sham - 'I suggested, during a dinner party the other night' ... Not how I had you pegged!
I haven't watched it yet but before I do I'm willing to bet the biggest complainants about their poverty will have a fag in their hand!
Lol. I actually re-typed that. It was more of a 'family round the table' kinda thing.... :)
Copius amounts of cider was consumed, cigarettes were smoked, I went 'on one', the kids were fighting....

that's pretty much how it went, sher.... yet it was still a 'dinner party' :P
Ok Baby, I take it back.
Haha I went to quite a lot of effort then to make it clear I am *not* the kind of person who has 'dinner parties' :D

Sunny Dave - I adore the treadmill idea just don't know how you got the profanities through
The welfare state along with the NHS is one of the reasons I am proud to live in this country and the tiny tiny minority who willing choose to abuse it are a disgrace
I want to hear more about this 'dinner party', Lol.
Did you have Port and Stilton, brandy and cigars and/or even After-Eight mints.
Come on, spill the beans (from the left, naturaleamon, lol)

Oh cider and after eights
Throw in a McDonald's and I'm in
One way to stop women having loads of kids would be to only pay child benefit for 2 children.
did you pick up the large lady having a go at her daughter for working.
