Did anyone else almost miss what Paul said? If I heard correctly it didn't sound that bad to me, it wasn't a remark directed at Lloyd either. I struggled to understand why such a huge storyline has been built up from tonight's episode - maybe I missed something else that was said.

There are many violent attacts on white people commited by black or asians but the law always judges it to be non racial no matter how obviously racist it is! The gangs of asian pedophiles being one case. And the attack by three black muslim girls on a white girl...... They were screaming and shouting "white ***" etc, but still it wast consideted racist!! And when was the last time a black on white racism story line was on a soap, or any other program come to that???

I have to say as a Corrie fan I was interested to hear the warning prior to the programme and then when Paul said 'Play the white man' I was waiting for something really offensive that warranted a warning - and it didn't come!
Stupid, and I feel, unrealistic storyline. I think that a character like Lloyd would just have said 'Oi mate! and made a joke out of it.

This type of thing alienates one section against the other, and does more harm than good.
Before Lloyd's ridiculous show of offensiveness when none was intended, and his need to play the race card was uncalled for, I once liked him as a character but now I view him in a completely different way.
And the way the script writers made everyone take the side of Lloyd was stomach churning, wouldn't it make a change for the white man to be right for a change?
If this type of thing is now going to be written into scripts perhaps the writer of Midsommers Murders was right to make it a predominant white series?

I never realised that it was offensive either, but didn't know the whole sentence til now. It is silly of lloyd, he and his family are getting on my nerves, he used to be so laid back. It wasn't even said to him and the whole thing is so silly. I am getting fed up with Corrie and Eastenders now, will have to watch Emmerdale!
