James is pulling Louis Smith's leg and he is bravely trying some fairly strange new (for him) foods. Poor soul even got food hell (squid) instead of food heaven (chicken) and then James showed him the beautifully cooked chicken and whisked it away again and made him eat the squid. What a nice young man!

good day...torts fine so far, nice licenced man is going to come and take the rubbish out of my garage and dispose of it properly for less than the council would charge to take half of it. Roast chicken for tea.
Afternoon...winter's here but no snow... is the stew pan on?
So sorry you're in so much miserable pain shaney. I hope the pills give you some relief and help you sleep. I've considered acupuncture many times and my previous gp said lots of people find it really helpful. I think some nhs practices offer it now.

Had a couple of busy days so I've had a lazy afternoon watching films under the furry throw. My favourite Christmas one, Muppet Christmas Carol, and Letters to Juliet, a soppy film set in Italy...lovely.
Went shopping with sis on Thursday, not as busy as we thought it would be, and managed to do really well. Only a few odds and ends needed now. We had a laugh in the fancy dress shop, the Tarquin jnrs like dressing up. I texted T and told him we were shopping in a camel suit. He said he actually could believe it. I'm an embarrassing mother :) I treated myself to some Clarins foundation, the firming one. I can recommend it, bit pricey but you only need a tiny bit (depending on what you're disguising :)).

Spanish lamb for neti...

Very peaceful here, thought the dung beetles were going to be the highlight of the day but ran into some lions just before sunset, then had G&T sundowners by a hippo pool. Up at 5am for the next game viewing so an early night calls. (Most guests are hanging round the TV room watching some football match.)

Jno it sounds wonderful. My inherited godson is going trekking in Cambodia and Vietnam this year...also visiting New Zealand. His Mum says she might fly out and join him for part of his trip. She has never done anything like it in her life so I am egging her on.
I've been off the air since yesterday.Computer desk etc has all been taken out and a brand new one fitted. It's really nice ,bookshelves and storage above,a nice big desk with drawers and the printer is now up on a shelf and the tower has it's own home.Plus a wireless keyboard ,mouse and speaker .The best bit though ,an ergonomic chair.
I can slide back and forth to the cooker on it :)
I love Clarins Robinia .I usually get a bottle of their eau de dynamite for Christmas.
The lamb here is £ 10.55 a kilo in Morissons Neti.
Sounds great Jno .Why on earth are people watching footie when they can see all the lovely wild life.
Woofy these tablets are 5mg and are doing nothing really apart from knocking me out at night .I want a magic bullet :)
Very cold again tonight .Hope you're all ok Sleep tight.

Question Author
slow leak turned out to be a healthy spray when i got the boxing off....plumber coming today.
Hello all
Dull an dreary out there but not quite so cold.
Happy Anniversary Neti. It's ours soon.We clock up 45 years this year.
Yes home repair insurance is brilliant Woofy. We've got the British Gas one .They've been a godsend with our dodgy drains.

Good luck to anyone trekking in Cambodia, still a fair bit of UXB there, I believe. Best buy a cow and get it to walk in front. Vietnam is supposed to be better. NZ very little trouble with mines, good for mothers to go trekking too, well developed routes.

I checked....yes it really is Cambodia he's going to. Plumber has just arrived and he seems very efficient and polite. I made him coffee set him going and am sitting with dogs to keep the peace. Brit gas is getting a piece of my mind when I do the survey.
Question Author
feeling proper old today....my pensioners christmas bonus just hit my bank account
Don't spend it all at once Woofy :) Ours arrived today as well.
Have you had problems with British Gas ? They've always been very good with us considering the amount of times they've been called out for that drain at the side that was always blocking.
Lovely bright day here but chilly.

it was ONE problem that wrecked everything. I called my leak in and thought it could wait until Monday so got a Monday appointment booked....ripped off the top of the boxing in that the pipe was in and went ********* when I saw it was spraying. Phoned back to escalate the call to an emergency....still fine....except the person on the other end of the phone put the urgent call onto the schedule of a plumber who wasn't actually at work until Thursday....which no one else realised....other CS folk tried to contact him and said he's not answering, have left a message, he WILL call back and it wasn't until a manager was involved that they realised why he wasn't answering and searched frantically for another plumber who could get out to me asap. Now yes, idiot who did the scheduling but surely the system shouldn't allow urgent appointment to be scheduled for someone who is not at work that day. Was chatting to my window cleaner today....he told me that his mum has just had a similar problem....she called out a plumber (100 call out charge) who said he couldn't remove the boxing it would need a builder (100 call out) I pay an excess of 50 per call out which keeps my monthly charge down...even with the monthly charge as well, with 3 call outs, two of them on sundays and one which took a whole afternoon, I reckon I am already in profit and still have the rest of the insurance year to run.
