I know, my Mum was a bit of a wild child in the 80's and my grandmother was in London in the 60's being a bright young thing, makes me feel hideously dull :)
Your time will come soon Shar -- if it hasn't already!
Saw Queen 3 times 1979 Croydon, 1982 Milton Keynes and 1986 Wembley. Met the band in 1979 when I was 17 and Freddie kissed my hand. He was such a great showman.
Lol I'm not sure the opportunity is there for anything equivalent though now, I think some things are ' seasonal' and can never come again. God that sounded Emo ;/ lol

You can get a good idea of the music I listen to from the three classical music starters I answered in Uni Challenge (yes I'm going to do that plug again...). So I've barely heard of any of the stuff you said earlier Shar :P.
All is not lost Sharigan, Rolling Stones are at Glastonbury this year.

Saw quite a few bands live, including Queen, as first Mr Sammy was a musician, so was quite easy to get passes.

Anyway off to bed now.
No I've never been to Electric Picnic Headwreck, but I'll certainly check it out. It's mostly German festivals I manage to get to because my step father has a German language band, and they don't really go down that well out of Germany lol so I can't get free passes for much outside of there. I am going to Bloodstock this year though which is in Derbyshire but I'm not really into the line up there but I'm sure there will be fun people there anyway.
I like classical music too Jim, I like piano music so Chopin and Lizst and an obsure madrigal composer called Carlos Gueseldo, really interesting composer I think.
I think I might make an exception for Glastonbury then and actually buy a ticket:)
My problem, if you can call it that, is that I like classical music but not much modern stuff. Or, more likely, I just don't listen to the right modern stuff.
I'll content myself with 30dec of Stones in my car. Glastonbury is beyond me, with tickets are nigh £200pp I hear. Not into roughing it for my music ;)
If you like opera you might like some of the Scandinavian metal bands, they're really classical sounding and use cellos and so forth a lot in their pieces. Try checking our Apokalyptica for starters, they're a bit fun and everyone likes Hall of the Mountain King.lol
