Struggling to remember some of my school girl French language learnt in the Forties. Sent a message to my son in Law and this is his reply. Need help with some of the words. Off to Paris with my Daughter shortly . Want to know what his reply was to my effort.

There are parts which aren't correct in the French (as if it's been google-translated by your SIL!) but basically my take on it is

I hope that you will have a marvellous time in Paris - it's a lovely city with lots to do and see and I hope that both of you will be "profitable to love" (which sounds a bit dodgy to me :-)

There are words in the French which shouldn't be there IMO!

Oh how funny. Methinks Son in Law has also used his Schoolboy French. Thought he was being a clever clogs. Basically he is treating Daughter and I to a weekend in paris sightseeing. Bless him. Thanks to you all .

gness - it is strangfe that you should say that . . .i have three lovely UN-married grandsons. . . . don't go or the youngest. he will only bring heartache.

"son" is definitely wrong: should be "c'est" = it is.
"Vous etes tous deux en profiter amour" makes no sense:literally"You are both (to) make the most of it/take advantage /enjoy (,) love.
I suspect "love" was meant to be a way of signing off (nothing to do with sex, romance etc.) and that the longer sentence was intended to mean s'thing like "Enjoy it, the pair of you"!
Definitely not typical French mistakes, so it's hard to even guess what he was trying to say with any certitude.
Please tell us when you've asked him!

As suspected he was trying to just wish me a lovely weekend away with his Wife,my Daughter.To enjoy Paris and love the atmosphere. Yes the amour was meant as signing off to me with his love. So we are not two floozies on the pull or me away with my secret lover either .LOL Bit old for that I am 74, Sorry Gness no single Brothers all 3 are married.
