If those celebrities with tears in their eyes gave 10% of their celebrity mega-bucks earnings to the charity it would save us a whole load of crap TV and Lenny Henry (Hotel salesman and Racist) wouldn't get on TV again !

I've just watched the mentalist and it's channel 5 all night for me,
(Hotel salesman and Racist)

You must know something .........why racist?
I think Henry is racist, going back to his stand-up days.
Can someone please have a word with Miranda Hart and tell her to give up her ridiculous brand of comedy and concentrate on her acting. In Call the Midwife she was a revelation.

I don't care what TV stars give I just watched a baby die on that programme. It didn't need to happen. I'm going to give because it's the right thing to do, I don't care what other people do. And how can Lenny Henry be racist, he was married to a white woman for years?
£57 million pounds raised so far.
Well, I've been enjoying it and I love Miranda Hart. David Brent was quite amusing as well.

Can't believe it's 10.30 and they've already raised £57m!!!

I'm going to do my donation now.
I love it, I watch it every year and I donate. It's only on one channel, watch the other channels if you are so offended. I also don't care what they celebrities give or don't give. £57 million at 10.30.....amazing.
In all honesty I have not given this year, yet. Last year I donated via debit card and they took twice the amount I donated. I thought of complaining, but then felt mean if I did.
Then you did donate Jeza, you just did it last year in advance.
I'm watching it with my kids, to give them a better understanding of what goes on in other parts of the world. They are absolutely dumbfounded by what they are watching. They have never been so quiet.
Yes I know! They should spend more money on the quality of the programmes and send less to the deserving causes!!
Only switched over to watch Mrs Brown at 9.30, as it was running late I had to suffer Ricky Gervaise, he is not the slightest bit funny, couldn't stand it any longer and turned back to something else.
I never watch it because I would rather give my money to people near me who I can see are getting the benefit of it. There are so many horror stories about whether the donations get to the places and people for which they are intended that is just not worth it.
Donating to charity is a very personal thing.

My question to the OP Adrianben is , how can you possibly know how much the celebrities donate?
I've given through the week to various events, because I believe it's a worthy cause, but not tonight. The programme is dreadful.
The programme couldn't be less comic if it tried. I switched off a couple of hours ago now. Sometimes it livens up after the news, let me know if I'm missing anything won't you. But ONLY if its hilarious please!
Excellent documentary about Graham Parker & The Rumour on BBC 4!
I've been out this evening and only watched a bit of the programme but from what I'm seeing now it could just as well be called serious relief.
We have many talented comedians in this country but none of them appear to be on tonight.
I will be donating anyway, as usual.
Yes enjoyed the bbc4 programme too!
