I missed the very end of the programme. Phone rang just as she was laying on the table for the illegal abortion. Did she die or what ??

she got septasemia her family came to say goodbye but at the end her husband and children were moved to harlow and she was with them .

no, she caught septasemia (sp) and went into a coma and her kids went into to the hospital to say their good byes but that was just a cruel tease to us viewers cos the family got re-housed 30 miles outisde of london in a 4 bed and lived happily ever after as she could not have anymore kids but could have endless 'fun times' with her brilliant hubby, he was so much like a proper londoners that dad.

Interesting to see if anything happens with the nun and the doctor! I somehow doubt it - pity.

Thought the episode was spoiled by casting Sharon Small as the mother - she just didn't look like someone who had 8 children, and her 'Cockney' accent was appaling. She's Scottish !!
