how do i use the letters on my LG TV remote. Cant find answer in books that came with the tv

If its like mine you use the number keys. You will see that each has several letters on them. You press the button once, twice or three times in quick succession till you get to the letter you want. If the next letter is on a different number key you can start pressing immediately but if the letter is on the same key you have to wait a couple of seconds for it to reset.
