Two part question:

1) Did it cross the mind of anyone else here that the original *infuriating* advert and more specifically its "ok, we'll kill off the opera singer" follow up was all planned from the start ?

2) Are there any other adverts that either infuriate you or make you question the process?

For me, the meercat "seemples" one is equally irritating - with that phoney foreign accent, the merchandise and the fact that that stupid catch-word has become a suffix for so many who think they've proved their point.

Whether the follow up was planned or not .... it is rubbish, in particular the Stuart Pearce one.
Mick is that the bloke with the football?
That's him, Baza
I hope he acts better on the pitch.
I suspect the second half was simply an opportunity spotted. I don't believe anyone would have anticipated the irrational cult of hating the tenor that seems to have sprung up.

Neither of the ads mentioned infuriate me. I'm sure there have been annoying ones in the past but I don't try to retain memory of them.
I don't think they planned it that way. They just cottoned onto the fact they could get a bit more attention from it.

That Money Supermarket ad - gggrrrrrr. 'Gary, you're so money supermarket you don't even know it'.

Gary has the face of a smug pudding and I'd like to smack that look off of him.
Who is it who traps the singer in the net?
Ray Meers Sandy.
I hate Wonga adverts - stupid old people puppets and a total rip off as well.
Have to say don't mind the ads withGo Compare singer, a very good one actually named Wyn Jones I think, BUT did not like the ball in the guts one, too much.
Two part answer;

The guy in the Ladbrokes Ads with phoney Italian accent gets up my nose !
There's no need to be annoyed by any ad. Do what we do...press "mute" and do something else until programme resumes (coffee, loo, chat, read etc.).
those two on 118 get on my nerves
Arguably there is only one meaningful answer to this debate.

Did the campaign repay its investment with?
increased sales/market share/brand consideration/awareness

I only know about the Meerkats - and the answer is yes/yes/yes/yes
We buy any car. Dot com
the one where the stupid little man shouts a us about double glazing, he needs a rocket right up the kyber pass.
Can't stand those two girls in the Coronation Street breaks - and never notice the furniture, waste of time IMO
Oh and I was in an antique/junk shop the other day and saw two of the 'free' meerkat toys on sale at £28 each!! - rosy
I'm with you rosy about the the Corrie girls ad breaks. I usually mute the TV or switch over for a few minutees!
