Last night there was an ad for the best of ELO. Today, called in to see aged parents who were watching Doctors and twice in the prog the strains of "Wild West Hero" were heard, spooky or a bit cynical?

i love that song
I thought it was odd Dickey but the episodes are filmed months in advance, so I guess..spooky.
an ad on the BBC?
I've noticed that all of the BBC news location reporters seem to wear Berghaus jackets.
centrally issued, no doubt; I wonder if the BBC rules require designer labels to be covered up?
^ there's certainly no attempt made to cover the labels with sticky back plastic or anything.

It is a good prog. My Mum says that they get see the Doc on a regular basis. Bless. Seriously, I have the ELO UFO album all wrapped up safe, never played, never opened and it is on coloured vinyl. Limited edition promotional copy. It is the only record of value that I have. Excuse me for a moment....Which Charity shop? When? Just because it was never played didn't mean I didn't want to keep it!!....Sorry back again, must go now, mrs cook needs to get my foot off her neck.
yes, I'm still inquiring how there was an ad for it on the beeb, though.
It was being played in the background of a scene from Doctors this afternoon jno.
they do a lot of advertising, Berghaus for one, other products seen in any number of programmes. Not supposed to of course, it also irritates when they use The One Show to advertise their latest offerings

@jno. Sorry, I didn't realise that you thought it was an advert per se. It was heard twice at two different points in the show. The same guy was listening to it. He was portrayed as a workshy 40 something living at home with his mum. I just thought it weird that the day before a 'New' best of was being released and plugged on commercial networks.
Are you sure it was an ad for The Best of ELO?. There are some ads on BBC channels at the moment for a BBC4 programme about ELO on Friday
I'm sure the advertising sales department must contact advertisers and offer them a space when there is something relevant in a programme - its too much of a coincidence sometimes when products are advertised right after something has been shown or mentioned. Not necessarily the actual product but something relevant to it. For instance the programmes with dogs in and then there are several adverts for dog food or dog charities.
Have a look at this unfortunate ad placement, lankeela
