I don't find I wake up needing to pee, so much as needing to drink loads of water, that I then need to pee out just as I'm finally dropping off to sleep. Dehydrating and then diuretic. OK, who was the stupid git that discovered alcohol then?
4 bottles of vino collapso between three of us yesterday was an 8 o'clock bedtime and snooze-fest.. (well we had been imbibing since 1pm (funeral so veto allowed!)) and I concurr.. Wine makes me pee every 10 mins...!!
Because, as said, it's really a depressant. Doesn't seem like it at first. People become more outgoing, extrovert, talkative, but that's the alcohol depressing their inhibitions. The first effect is on hearing, then the rest of the symptoms follow;slurred speech, unsteadiness, sleepiness. Get enough in the blood, and the drinker may become comatose and even die. That's how good a depressant on the nervous system it is.
Fred has it all correct. As a doctor once said to me it's a good job alcohol does lead to vomiting, sleep etc or many more people would just drink themselves to death.
