I can't just be moaning about stuff all the time, it's only fair the good guys get their credit too so my best customer service nomination recently goes to:

A very nice London bus driver.

It was pooring with rain and I was dripping wet when I jumped on his bus at Oxford St which I narrowly missed only to find my Oyster card had run out of money. As I was trying to dig out my purse for change he just gave me a little smile and waved me on, taking me back to Finchley road for free. I thought that was very kind.

Virgin Media - rang them one evening a couple of weeks ago as my PC Guard firewall was not working and they remote accessed my computer and fixed it :o)
A lovely taxi driver who picked me up when I got lost in Birmingham. Lost with no money and no phone :-(

I didn't get into a random taxi...the taxi was phoned by a security man once I'd found out the name of our hotel.

And the nice receptionist in the hotel....who posted my car keys back to me....

That wasn't a very good night...lol
Paula from IronHeart.co.uk she phoned me a while back to apologise for selling me a tee shirt as she was worried that I'd been pressurised into buying it.
Amanda from Aero Leather Scotland, brilliant at dealing with all customer requests.

hhmmm, the nominations for best are coming in much slower than the worst.

I'll add EDF in there (for the time being) as I was quite happy to get a statement from them this week showing I am £250 in credit - although I'm pretty sure this will be completely swallowed up in the next 2 months.
Still thinking....

When their card reader failed at my local sainsbury they asked if I could pay cash...I couldn't as I did not have time to find a working cash point...

for my inconvenience they gave me vouchers to cover the cost of my shopping plus a few over... I was very impressed

That reminded me Rowan of a time we went shopping to Asda (years ago). When we arrived they had evacuated everyone due to a fire alarm. Luckily we got there just as they were letting everyone back in and handing out £25 gift vouchers as a sorry to every single person.

amazon, ordered starwars boxset a couple of years ago, never arrived though amazon assured me it was sent, no joy with royal mail, amazon sent me out another boxset and a £25.00 voucher.
lady in asda for finding me "cake in a tin" and not laughing at the look on my face when i found out it actually exists and i wasn't being wound up
What one did you get Fluffy?
there was syrup and choc, i din;t know which one to get so i got both. cooked the syrup one, i only tried a little bit under much duress, ab revolting oversweet mushy stuff

now added to the list
Two weeks after the three year warranty on my Neff cooker ran out, the glass on the oven door cracked whilst cooking the evening meal. I phoned them at 9.10am the following morning and by late lunchtime the same day(ten to two) they'd came, fixed a new door on, given me another two year guarantee and a beautiful set of oven to table ware, three casserole dishes, a lasagne dish and four oval 'mornay' indiviual dishes - and a letter of apology!
Yes, that was very kind of him. If an inspector had come on and checked everyone's tickets he could have lost his job and you may have been thrown out in the rain. I know this for a fact as used to work on the buses myself. I sometimes had free bus rides when I was a trade plater but that was because I was carrying trade plates. I could do no wrong with those!
o2 - always go that extra mile without you having to ask
Smyths Toys (online) - ordered with them last Wednesday, got a text on Thursday saying I would get my order on Friday. Friday I got another text saying my order would with me between 12.38 and 1.38 - knock on the door at 12.39 - absolutely brilliant service (and no delivery charge - would highly recommend).
Marmot who make tents, replaced my very old, abused and leaky tent for a brand new one. Value nearly £200. No hassle, no fuss.
I still go for BT, I find my experiences with their call centres getting me back on line are very good.
