Police Not Recording Reported Crime

I have discovered that my local police constabulary has not been recording the crimes I have reported to them over the last 12 months.
Clearly my local police force are falsifying reported crime to the Home Office (at the very least).

What can I do to force my local police constabulary to record the reported crime – I have already complained (to them and the IPCC), without success?

I am seeking definitive answers, not nonsense such as seek advice from the CAB/MP etc.

If there is no legal route to force the police to record reported crime – I would appreciate it if the legal eagles on this site, would state as much.

Hello

Is it criminal offence/s that you are reporting?.
Question Author
exdc - Yes.
You may already have checked this, but do the crimes you reported definitely fall within the police reporting criteria?

I know you think this is silly but maybe your MP would be interested. Or contact a newspaper such as the Daily Mail.
How do you know that they are not recording these crimes?
What kind of offences and where have you got the information from that they haven't been recorded?

If it's a site like the crime statistics map, do the crimes you are reporting qualify as to what is reported? Could it be they have been recorded but not reported?

Alternatively have you contacted them to find they have no records of things you have previously reported?

Who have you dealt with about the crimes - do you report say via 999 or local police station or a local community support officer?
Ok, I am afraid you may have to disclose further details for an answer.

I discovered that no reported crimes had been recorded following a FOI request to the Police Information Services Office of my local police force.

I could site the Home Office crime classification code for the reported crimes.

But you are asking questions – not answering my question.
Are the crimes being recorded somewhere else?
When you report a crime the officer gives you a crime number, noone can not then claim the crime was not recorded, I always ask for the crime ref. number when a crime is reported to police.
We're asking questions because we're trying to understand the sort of crimes - and frequency - that you are reporting, and how you know that they are not being recorded.
Question Author
factor30 – yes, I have a detailed log of them on my PC.
Hymie, Sorry for the questions but there are 'crimes' and there are 'incidents' and they get recorded differently in accordance with Home Office recording policy etc.
Thanks hymie. When I asked if they are being recorded somewhere else I wasn't referring to your computer- I wondered if there was a central log covering a few stations/areas.
Do you have the crime reference numbers?
Question Author
exdc - the police have recorded nothing, no incidents or crimes - and have confirmed as much in writing.
I can confirm that the reported 'crimes' fall under crimes as defined by the Home Office counting rules for recording crime.
well then hymie in future when you report a crime insist that you are given a log number
Thanks

Can you disclose the HOCR code for the crime/s Hymie?.
There must be an audit office department that audits these statistics and source data.
Are you 100% sure there isn't some sort of misunderstanding here?
How many crimes have you reported in a period of 12 months Hymie? I think I have reported maybe 3 in my life - you sound like it's maybe been a few.
Question Author
The reported cimes fall under 8L and 8M.

But you are still not answering my question.
I will Hymie, but I need to know what you are reporting.
