arh, just thought, this is all done of Friday, it's the Saturday they can't do anything at all
Interesting, I like the family connection way of life, more people should be like that. I certainly don't like how women are treated as lesser than men or that's the way it came across, everyone should be the same in my book. It's a shame that it's a religion, as a way of life rather than dogma it might be good to follow but in my opinion religion gets in the way.
I was interested in Michael's take on life, he was the husband of the lady who featured in the programme, at the end he said people see them as not wanting to mix with the outside world? then added "the outside World hasn't been very good to us, has it"
I didn't like the baby 'snip' .. can't remember what they call it. Seems barbaric regardless of how long it has been done in their faith.
Question Author
why is it barbaric? its done in every day life, or did you mean because its just done for religious reasons?

what about the women who have to wear a wig or something so that their hair doesnt show??? strange
when was it on? I missed it.
Question Author
last night, it was very good
I was watching the Life of Muhammed on BBC2, sorry I missed it.
gina - Because this procedure isn't a 'neccesary' procedure inflicting pain on the baby & purely done in the name of religion.

Indeed helen, and the hair covering is not dissimilar to the Muslim headscarf - and they too circumcise their baby boys.

May be not redhelen ... but 'this' procedure ... done in the name of religion feels barbaric in 'my' opinion.
Didn't watch all of it, so might do a catch up on i player but i liked the shop owner, was watching him and wondering who he reminded me of, then it hit me, a rather more, or much more portly Martin Hughes Games, chatty and likeable.
My friend earned good money when she was a student, working in Jewish homes on Saturdays.
Cook, serve, wash up, light fires, make beds...
I + it and watched it last night
I am always fascinated by both judiasm and Islam (being a catholic!)
The similarities of both religions are striking
Amazed at the rules they have to follow! I thought, what's the point?

Exactly what I thought

Ooohhh you cant rip toilet paper on a Saturday, you can't turn the lights on. What a load of old tosh
Why does religion have to dictate the most bizarre things but more to the point how come people actually follow it to carry these things out? It's beyond me...don't people have minds of their own?
