Simon Cowell seems to be having a bad time of it lately, what with Cheryl Cole, votes being rigged etc. Well, there is only one way to stop the votes being rigged .. just DONT VOTE !! I really don't see the point in voting, the whole programme is a farce, the same as X Factor. Just tape it, run through the ads and the bits where they all get out of the cars and have a chat etc. Watch the acts, enjoy, and save your money instead of putting it into Mr Cowell's pocket .. Easy !!

I really like Simon Cowell and don't understand why a lot of people always try and put him down. Yes, he's rich and probably has a big ego, but people seem so envious of that and begrudge him his success. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to the music industry and has made a lot of youngsters very rich and good luck to them!

I like the X-Factor and BGT (although this year's had been rubbish), but I never vote. Not because I don't want to put money into Simon's pocket, but because I just can't be bothered.

Much as I like Cheryl Cole, she was fifth in line for the job and if you can believe anything that goes in the papers, it was Simon who persuaded the execs to give her a chance. I think she's shot herself in the foot by not answering ITV's phone calls and they were right to say enough is enough. It's not like she's a superstar, but she was certainly acting like a diva!
I have to agree with you about Simon Cowel, Tizzi! I like the man. He is a great character, one of the most knowledgeable and respected people in the industry and has worked hard for his achievements. Sadly, many people are jealous of those who are successful and like to put them down and moan about them all the time. I don't judge celebrities by what the tabloids write, as we all know most of what they publish is fabricated nonsense. I prefer to judge them by how I perceive them on TV or radio. Simon is a very good son, who takes care of his family and, according to people who know him well, is not as big headed as the press would like us all to believe. I for one have great respect for him and do like watching his shows. I do also agree thought that this year's BGT is not brilliant!
So what about the story that the kid has been groomed in more ways than one?
"The kid" is a local lad to me. He most definatley hasn't been groomed in any way.

He was good at singing, went to a kids singing workshop had a few lessons and entered. Neither he nor his family expected him to do so well. Lets support him and cheer him on eh?

Lets not believe what one single jealous idiot posted on a blog, or perpetuate the stories its pure evil.
this years xfactor put things in a new light for me, all these shows are bad for the music industry imo, it reminds me of when stock, aitkin and waterman took over the charts in 1989 and churned out one heavily manufactured act after another
care to expand on that , extraordinary statement DT ?

not heard much about this fixing malarkey.
or the many kinds of - Grooming?
eeeewwww i feel a bit queasy!!!
there was a thread yesterday linking to a twitter to the accusation that they had reared Parke (think that i his surname) and wroked on him for over a year in terms of grooming, his singing etc etc - and that they wanted deilberately to play his "feminity" to build a gay image.... From all of this that contracts had already been signed between his team and SC - and that the result had already been decided.

All pretty rich and apparently there was a question whether SC would go for an injunction.....I agree with Maidup's comment I must admit.

I'll see if I can find the thread
Who actualy phone votes these programmes? It's one big farce. Whip the gullible up in to a frenzied hype and lets have your money .. cheers!
the mind boggles!?!?
Tend to agree with you there, Quassia
lol
Ronan win will tonight when he sings Kelly Clarkson's 'Because of You'.

I must admit I do like Simon, and I agree with everything he says ... but I just can't understand why people waste their hard earned money by voting !!
The rubbish we read in the papers, on twitter etc., there is never any way we can know if any of it is true. I come from a family that has been and still is involved in the entertainment business. My father was an actor / singer and one of the most successful of his time. But that was many years ago. I have relatives and close friends who are in the business today and I can assure you, the insider world of entertainment, theatre, music etc is very different to what people who are on the outside perceive it to be! It is so easy for people to deride things they know little or nothing about. Negative stories are more often a product of individuals who get their kicks out of manipulating others, i.e. you, me, the general public, into believing all manner of rubbish that is untrue. The victims are so often simply successful, talented people, some of them quite young, who have done nothing other than work very hard to follow their dreams and achieve their goals. Too many people take delight in making money out of nasty, fabricated stories that so many are foolish and gullible enough to believe! Really makes me angry sometimes!
I have to admit, I don't vote either smurfchops. Not because I don't think anyone deserves my vote, but rather beacause I don't think people should have to pay to vote. Again, too many people making money out of artists, who never get any of it!
Why would Cowell risk it?

I think it's botox
