When do you all think we will stop talking about Jade Goody? As she really done enough wrong to warrant getting this much press? What she did was bad but there as been worse and will be worse in the future plus she wasnt the only guilty one.

I think channel 4 are looking for a scapegoat. They chose to air the comments made by her (lets face it they could have pulled the plug when her rows started) and now they are throwing her to the lions.

I actually felt sorry for her today when she said she hadnt even been able to see her kids yet.

i dont care about Jade Goody, one way or another, there have been dozens of people without talent on television down the years , for calling a second rate bollywood actress a popperdom and telling her that she didnt like the way she cooked chicken and shouting a bit , is hardly a hanging offence , she was in turn called white trash, but thats ok shes white, it doesent count,

Actually Marvelman, Shilpa is not a 'second rate' Bollywood actress. She is one of the biggest stars in a film industry who's size and breadth of cultural influence and audience numbers makes Hollywood look like a video film of a weekend barbacue!

That aside, the whole scenario has been blown out of all proportion by people who really ought to know better. Jade was deeply unpleasant and offensive, it was a silly stupid response of someone with low intelligence dealing with someone she sees as totally alien to her, and therefore frightening.

It was nasty, bear-baiting TV, but a diplomatic incident? People really need to take a step back and look at what is going in here from all perspectives.

Actually, andy-hughes, according to newspaper articles I've read, Shilpa is not such a big star as we've been lead to believe. Yes, she's made about 50 films, none of which set the box office alight nor required much acting on her part - she was just arm candy. Apparently, now she's a 'name' over here, offers have been pouring in.

I read a remark in today's papers by Gene Simmons which I thought was a valid point. Some people are racist, some are not. If you have a reality TV show, then you're going to have real people in it. I think when the row began to escalate, BB should have stepped in and called Jade to the diary room.

Actually, Shilpa is a big star in Bollywood, a household name, I had doubts at first because only "has-been" celebs goes in the BB house so I enquired about her with some asian friends and yes, she is one of the superstars in Bollywood even she has lots of flops, she's been in the biz since she was 17, she must have some but she had won awards. She was paid �350,000 to go in the BB house, she got paid the most, Jade only got �50,000.
What I can understand was Jade kept saying she's fake and she think she's a princess but she had not ordered anyone to do anything for her but instead she cooked their dinners, strange, it was just in Jade's head and she's a hypocrite. I think she's just damn rude and a bully but not really a racist but very inconsiderate, I think she just ran out of bad stuff to say about Shilpa so she came out with all that racial sounding comments.
I felt sorry for her kids though, ppl are saying horrible things about her kids, it's not her kids fault just b/c their mum has issue and can't control her loud mouth.
Channel 4 should have stepped in sooner.

My dads bigger than your dad............................I think now that the tabloids have bigger issues to report (not) Jade will soon be forgotten, all the race issues around at the min I don't think it will be long before somebody else is on the front pages.

I personally think Its going to get a lot worse for Jade, she is in a no win situation, If Shilpa comes out and says she was not bullied & target of Racist abuse, Jade will be punished for that; or vice versa, It�s roses all the way for Shilpa.

This is not the first debate about race and it definitely will not the last! Even tho I don't really like Jade, I feel so sorry by how she is being treated.

I agree yummymum that Jade wasn't the only one guilty of being a bully and the way the remaining members of the Goody gang are now acting towards Dirk is appalling. I just hope that they will receive the same treatment.

So many people get away with this kind of thing by saying they didn't mean it. Ignorance is no excuse.

It seems that everyone is in such uproar about the fact she may have been a racist, that obviously being a plain old nasty bully is acceptable.

What she did was stupid racist or not. She singled someone out for the purpose of humiliating her, and i'm sure that if any of you have has this happen to you, you'll know how confidence shattering it is. Especially when the entire nation is watching.

This is one of the points I tryed to get across on another post (not very well tho) Jade did more harm when she was in BB3 yet the public accepted it, Why was it acceptable then but not now?

I agree with what you have personally said against Jade, I have said it before; I personally found her comments she made to Ken more offensive, I do not agree that it is acceptable in this society to slate a person for doing what we are doing ourselves?

Nearly everry post on this section are about Jade, What about the others who have been more offensive towards Shilpa. Do there racist comments not matter?

You seem to be all out for Jade�I personally think its not about what she said, but who she is.

Channel 4 could have edited out a lot of the "incidents" if they wanted to, but they chose not to and now Jade and co are paying for it. Daniell and Jo have got to have their share of the warning too yet and so it will go on. Channel 4 bosses stepped in eventually when they knew it was getting too far and the girls all made up. They knew something was going on outside. So TV chiefs could have chosen not to show anything at all and no-one would have been the wiser.
