if started work at 23 15 and finished at 0645 how much rest do i neeed to take 9 or 11 hours

Not enough information. I'm assuming this is regarding HGV tacho breaks. Your daily rest has nothing to do (as such) with your driving day. You must take an 11hour rest period after every driving period, but this may be reduced 3 times within one driving week to 9 hours. The rest period must be made up within 3 weeks by being added onto a normal weekly rest period eg your normal weekly rest period is 45 hours, so say you did one 9 hour rest, you must do one weekly rest of 47 hours within 3 weeks. The tacho laws are so simple!!!!
