If you succeed you will be punished with the full force of the law!!!!!
the law did used to punish people who tried to commit suicide and failed....I guess it was to demonstrate to them that life is worth living after all....
It's not encouraged, but it is legal. If successful you'll lose any benefits though.
Pretty sure that attempted suicide is against the mental health act and i do believe my father (an ex police dog handler) once talked someone down from Beachy Head and then arrested them under said act !!!!
In Scotland an attempted suicide is usually treated as a Breach of the Peace (causing fear and alarm to the lieges)
It is against the law of the bible, you would never enter heaven I'm told.

My mate sent me a message via facebook and told me he was standing right on the edge of a cliff and wanted to jump. So I poked him.
Attempted suicide was illegal until 1961. One of the more notable people convicted of the offence was James Billington, an executioner in the 1920s who became unhinged after a controversial hanging and cut his throat. On sentencing him the judge laconically remarked that it was a good job that his aim was not as good as his drop.
