I need some help please on what is GBH ? As my partner was threaten 3 time by his brother in law " I will rough you up " each time getting louded and more threating as he went on then he shoved my partner 2 times so he was backed up against the wall , all becouse my partner was trying to speak to him about some family fall out , his brother in law is in his 40's and my partner is in his 20's , can we report him for GBH and begining treaten ? this all happen late in the evening . Would be interested to now if we can charge him for this. Thanks

GBH is grievous bodily harm. So in this case no chance of getting the brother-in-law charged with that. Perhaps the nearest thing the police would charge him with, that of course of it is reported to the police, would I think be common assault.
you can't charge him with anything, that's the polices job. You should have called them at the time!
