My ex husband is serving two years in a British prison for sex offences. He and his family and his solicitor have not let me know which prison. My daughter has also made some disturbing allegations against him that are being investigated. Knowing the system I suspect he will be out on probation in about a year. I want to get a no contact order so that he cannot phone me. I live in Canada. My quesiton is, in which country do I get the order and do I have to wait until he is released from prison. Thanks for any help. Dianne

He sounds like a right nasty piece of work
Is he likely to stay in the UK after release?
How likely is it he would be able to find you? Does he have your address? Does your daughter (or any other children) want anything to do with him?

If the answers are no to the above then TBH, i would just change my number and be done with him
to be legal you would need to get an order in Canada and have it endorsed and recognised in the UK to be fully effective
I may be talking rubbish but, as he is in for sexual offences he will be on the sex offenders register when he comes out which puts him under stict controls. It would be very unlikely for him to leave the country in such cirumstances.
