My ex girlfriend has some of my property up to the value of 80 at her house. She had agreed to let me come and get it, however went back on this, and said she would post it. I didn't receive it, so sent her a letter asking for it. She called me and said she would post it withing the next week. A week later I still hadn't got it. SO I sent another letter, stating I would seek legal advice if she didn't return my property. And have still heard nothing.
What can I do now? Can I seek help through the courts? I know 80 isn't a massive amount, but the property is very important to me.
Thanks

Do you have a friend or relation who could act as intermediary and collect the property?

I have asked her if someone else can collect the property, and she said no. Im getting so frustrated, as I feel like she is holding onto it just to stay in contact with me. Which is why I feel maybe I need to involve a Solicitor, but am worried they may think I should just let the property go as its only worth 80, but its worth a hell of a lot more than that to me!
You don't need a solicitor - you can pursue it in the County Court using the Small Claims' Procedure. It will cost you, but you can do it online and is a fairly simple procedure.

Write her a letter, and head it NOTICE OF INTENDED LEGAL ACTION.

Dear.....
As you have ignored previous written and verbal requests to return my property, a xxxx, a xxx and a xxx, I have taken legal advice.
I must inform you that unless I receive these items within 28 days I shall initiate proceedings in the County Court to recover these items.
Copies of previous written requests attached.

Yours sincerely,

Keep copies of every letter, and a note of every phone cll and conversation. The court costs will not be prohibitive.

Thanks a lot for that, really helpful.

I can only seem to see the money claim online site, is that what I use? Sorry If Im being a bit thick! Thats probably why I need a Solicitor! HA HA
Ah. It is possible that it can't be done online and the costs are higher.

No harm in trying the letter, though. :)
