If you are still with the same company then you will have it stopped out of your wage, plus, they should factor in the tax you paid on your wage when you got the money, cos you paid too much probably, and so they should have recalculated it with the tax on it.

no i am not with the same company!

i havnt worked for them since this happend.
after about 6 months they sent me a letter saying the credited my account with them with the amount of 550 so if and when i worked for them they could take the money from me that way..

and the thing is, i was paying emergancy tax with them.. and havnt ever recived a tax rebate since i started work when i was 17.. and im now 20.

more to the point, is there anyway i can get out of paying this money cos i cant afford it AT ALL!!
when you recieved the CCJ there will have been a form in it offering you the opportunity to present a defence to the district judge, and you could have gone to the hearing.
now all you can do is send the form back and ask for more time to pay. Your tax would have automatically been adjusted after yhe end of the year if you had not used your full allowance for that employment . Ask at the tax office, do you have your p60? the firm you owe this money to will have sent you one in the april.
No way out of it.
You appear to have almost a year since the original mistake to start putting money aside.
I don't know why you feel robbed, to be honest. You spent money you weren't entitled to and the company is quite rightly recovering its money.

As your friends and family told you to ignore it - ask them to pay.

Contact your tax office and see about getting a rebate.
all i can say is that you were given VERY bad advice from your friends. you say "no fault of my own" but as soon as you realised or were made aware there was a mistake you burried your head in the sand, which has now resulted in probably being unable to apply for credit in the future, having a ccj - the original mistake was theirs but unfortunately all the subsequesnt faults have been yours. If they had made a mistake and underpaid you, you would have expected the payment to be made back to you. They have made (very) reasonable approaches to you, so they had no choice but to take you to court. There is no way of getting out of this. You will have to pay
