I have just discovered that a relative of mine (long since dead) was in prison (Parkhurst) in the 1940 period. I would imagine there is a closure period on records but am desperate to know the dates involved in the sentence in order to fill in further family details....does anyone know if it is possible to get this information? Thanks.

I'm desperate to find prison records of a bigamous relative in the fourties, but will be getting old and grey(er) by that point!

Many thanks for that information as it means I can stop trying then! By 2040 I'll be long dead and will probably have met the man in question.
Thanks again.
