I currently work p/t 18 hrs a week and have just been offered another p/t job for about the same amount of hours and roughly the same pay per week which i am going to take, i would like to carry on with both job for the time being to generate some extra cash (the p/t hours do not clash).

My question is what will happen about the tax situation? will i pay the normal amount on both jobs and if so how do i go about sorting this out? or will i pay emergency tax on my new job and get a rebate at the end of the year?

Thank you in advance.

If you're already paying tax that means you're using up all your personal allowances against the income from your first job. So all the income from the second job will be taxable. You would have a tax code of BR for the second job and I don't think there would be any year-end rebate.
Correct. BR means Basic Rate tax and your employer will remove 22% of your salary in PAYE tax. You also pay NI on the second job as course.
^^^ from 6th April Basic Rate tax will be 20%.
When you start the second job you will be given a form to complete, on which you must state that it is not your only job. The tax office will then issue you with the BR code as stated above, and you will pay basic rate tax on all your earnings at the second job. If however, you do not earn more than 5435 in your first job, you may be entitled to a refund at the end of the tax year.
You may earn 105 a week in each job before you pay any National Insurance, then you will pay 11% on earnings above that.
further to my reply, my point about the National Insurance assumes that the 2 employers are not connected in any way - if they are then you only get one lot of 105 allowance a week.
