Get a USB or firewire external hard drive (or borrow one from a friend), and transfer onto that first, then your macbook.

You could get an ethernet cable (RJ-45, any kind will do), and set up a mini network between the computers.

Windows can be fussy with sharing files though, so while it's a lot cheaper than buying an external drive, it'll be more effort.

Also, the external drive is great for making backups with Time Machine!
If the PC has firewire, cant you connect the two computers like you can two Macs? Perhaps PCs arent that clever, I dont know.
Twenty: I don't think they are, no.

Another idea: how about taking the drive out of your old PC, and connecting to the macbook? If the drive is a SATA drive for example, you can find SATA to USB cables, that will let you do this.

(Turning your old drive into a basic external drive.)
