Hi,

Back in August I was assaulted quite badly in my girlfriends house by her ex husband who had broken into the house and beat me up, dragging me out of bed, punching, throwing me down the stairs and out of the door. He was arrested at the scene and some photos were taken of my injuries the next day, (2 black eyes, sprained fingers, cuts and grazes all over me, etc).

The court case is coming up this week and I was wondering if anybody has any idea on the what the outcome might be? He's also a Sergeant in the Army and this is his first offence. Can anybody help with this?

Thanks. Even though he was arrested at the scene and there's evidence that he did it?
normally he will not get anything from a civil court as they will send him back to his unit unless a prison sentance is given (it wont be for sure)

he army will then sit in judgement and pass sentence on him.

sorry to say i guess he will get away totally free but my slow his promotion down a little

Thats a great help thank you, really appreciate everyone's views. I'm assuming that he will be found guilty for this as there's obvious evidence he did it, he's pleaded not guilty at the first hearing. So you're saying that if he's found guilty then the court won't give a sentence and just pass it over to the army for sentencing? Somebody in the army who I know said he will be posted away but I'm not sure if that would be the case. Any thoughts?

the house he broke into was actually on mod premises. it was registered that only my girlfriend lived there though, not him as he had moved out to play the field. Jealousy is horrible if that's the case. I am really still scared though/

If it is a sct 47 - he is in the army and as no previous then he will walk - it may be different if it is a sct 18 - sct 20.
