my mate has recently separated from his wife but still living with her.he went to see his mediator today and she says that if he admits to having another partner, the partners wages would be combined with his money and they will both have to pay his wife money and costs.
is this right, and when did this law come into force,if this is right.....cheers

oh yeah, what ever init!
yes that is right more or less, it works like this, if he has a partner the wages will not so much be combined but the fact that more money is coming into the house which means your mate doesnt have to pay so much out in bills( because the partner can help) so he will have more disposable income and therefore pay more to the previous partner. and its was in law many years ago
The partners wages would only be taken into account if he was living with her.As he appears to be still living with the soon to be ex wife then they would just work out any settlement from his income.
yes sorry i was reading as if they were living together already
Money and costs for what?

Maintenance for her?

Maintenance for their children?

Divorce settlement?

Your question is far too vague to answer properly.
