After taking my son to school this morning i was involved in a small collision with another car. Both of us were reversing out of spaces and bumped. There is a small dent in my car and a scratch on the back bumper of the other car. I would have said bump for bump but the other driver insists on getting a quote and charging me. where do i stand on this? We were in the school car park does it make a differance that this is private land and not a highway?

I think to be fair any claim would be settled 50:50 in my experience. Makes no difference at all that you where in a school car park.

To be fair sounds like the damage is going to cost less than your excess.

Your insurance company would probably advise you to try and speak with the third party and agree to deal with your own damage costs as both will probably cost about the same.
