More information required, please. Do you legally own this path at side and rear? Does the neighbour have an easement (a legal right of passage on foot) to go along there - or is it just a convenience that has occurred over time. What are the implications - they would have to take materials into their back garden by going through their house?

Thank you,we believe that the neighbours have a easement to legal access as explained by our solicitor on purchasing the property, and we have no problem with neighbours using the footpath from their rear door to take their bins out or allow access for tradesmen, our main concern is that my wife and I often sit at back door area and now neighbours family are using this access from the side front gate to gain entry to our neighbours house rather than go to the front door, and this is fairly constant, almost daily, and we feel our privacy is being disturbed, when we originally thought the access was only for our neighbour to use solely for the above reasons. As previously stated,we are the end house ,(ex councils)in a block of four, our neighbour is ,obviously next door, and and our solicitor did explain on purchase that the only problem he saw before completion was the access question ,and even if we wanted to build a conservatory at any time, then access would still have to be given to neighbour which again we reiterate,we have no problem with, just the family using the side and back path area of our property. Please help.Thank you.
What a nightmare I have the same problem but hopefully mines is sorted now, is there any way you could put another path round your garden so they would not have to pass your back door. Our neighbour was bringing every one in and they were walking all over our garden not keeping to the path.
It has cost a lot of money with going to solicitor and trying to get it sorted.
