In England and Wales, The Sexual Offences Act 1985 introduced the criminal offence of kerb-crawling by a man - view the Act here.

This now arrestable offence has since been made gender-neutral (i.e. women can also be arrested for kerb-crawling) by The Sexual Offences Act 2003.

There is no specific law in Scotland against kerb-crawlers, although they might be charged with causing a breach of the peace.
Near where I live - if you are found to be guilty more than once - they can apply for an ASBO and one has been granted and given out as punishment. Two years to stay away from the area unless he has a prior engagement and a letter to say so.
Just legalise it.
The problem is in the town where I live - like most places - it's centered around a residential area and needs a tolerated zone. It's absolutely no fun living in the area with pimps, drug pushers and all the usual parephinalia which goes with both of these vices landing in your garden or being peddled in view, all day everyday right outside your front door.

thanks, i didn't realise that kerb crawling was in fact the criminal act , almcd007 what a nightmare it must be for you
We used to live in the area but don't now. We lived there during the days of the Yorkshire Ripper and it certainly kept you on your toes. Our local paper is right behind the clean up campaign - but some real action is needed if the problem is to stamped out. Its located on a main road and to see these girls plying their trade alongside mums and kids walking home from school is quite wrong.
