I have a few hundred UAE Dirhams left from my holiday. Whats the best place to exchange them for stirling? Banks?

Probably an M&S B de C if you are near one otherwise the Post Office. Banks tend to charge a commission on top of an only just OK exchange rate, especially if you are not a customer

Better still sell them to a mate who is going out there.
