What would happen if you were caught with fake bus pass?

Say someone makes a fake bus ticket. For instance, one of those monthly tickets and all they do is change the date on a template fake ticket and print it so they can get on the bus for free.

What would actually happen if one was to get on the bus and get caught with a fake ticket?

But what would the bus driver do.. All I could imagine happening is the bus driver says "its fake. get off". Then the person walks off and waits for the next bus.

However, if the mens rea was to use it (i.e no theft/deception has occured) in theory could they not be "going equipped" for any burglay, theft or cheat???

It would probably depend on the bus driver, if you're lucky you'll get one who just throws you off the bus, if you're not you'll get someone who'll lock down the bus & call the police.

I've spoken to a bus driver about this, just out of curiosity's sake, a driver should confiscate the pass, charge the full fare then alert central control that there is someone using fake travel cards & they'll alert all drivers in the area - the driver then needs to fill out a report about the incident. But again, it comes down to individual drivers how they handle it.

If a ticket inspector gets on the bus & catches someone with a fake pass, they confiscate it, fine you on the spot & call the police.
