does anybody know of a cohabitee being awarded half a property even though they never made any financial contribution towards it

There are many examples - Grant v Edwards (1986) is often used to establish the rights or the non-owning cobatitee.

Lloyds Bank V Rosset (1991) is another.

thanks for that, very interesting reading but really wanted a case where the defendant is sucessful and the claimant is awarded nothing.Its the defendants house
