How can you find out online (ideally free of charge) whether someone has any CCJ’s against them?

You can search 'The Register of Judgments' for a small fee of between £6 & £10. All you need to do so is the Person's name and address. For details, scroll down to the last paragraph in the following HM Government's link:- https://www.gov.uk/county-court-judgments-ccj-for-debt/ccjs-and-your-credit-rating Hans

I don't think you can online, but I could be wrong on that.
You can go to the court concerned and ask the clerk who will help you.
