I have 2 son's that live with my ex and I see at weekends(when he lets me!).I also have a daughter who also lived with him but came to live with me permanently when she was 14 and is now 18.I tried to get CSA for her but never ever heard a thing or got a penny, even though his name is still on their records as an open case(??).She has now left home!

He has now after all these years decided it would be really funny to claim CSA from me for the son who is 13.I have been sent a form last week which is demanding my partners salary as well as mine.(partner is fuming).

I haven't had a chance to send it back yet and today I got another quite serious letter saying that I have only 7 days to reply or else they will make a calculation on the information that they have!! What information???

And how the hell can they do this when they never chased him?? Im baffled and furious!!

The other son is 16 and just left school. He has only applied for teh 13 year old.How can they not pay me for my daughter and then do this?? What do I do??

*the
You need to go to Citizens Advice Bureau and get it sorted.

I though CSA had been closed down, maybe they have and new department just kept the name, I don't know!
Hi Pinl long time no hear. Best advise is to get your local MP involved. they are usually very helpful and it also means he/she will deal with the case on your behalf. You can also ask for a home visit to go through all the information with yoiu. I dont know why they never got involved with regards to your daughter. The only thing I can think of is that your ex was still getting Child benefit for her while she lived with you. All the time that is paid to the other party they wont chase the other parent.

Best of luck x
sorry I meant Pink. typing too fast.

No.I got the child benefit for her.I am so angry I am shaking.
If you had your daughter for the last four years and he has your two sons for the last four years then he was/has been looking after one more child than you. Now the pair of you have only one dependant child and he's asking for maintenance for that child. Doesn't sound as if he's completely out of order.
Question Author
Really?? He refused all CSA letters for 4 years till my daughter turned 18 and so I couldnt claim anyway. I also have a little boy of 6.My eldest 2 live with him in his big house, pool etc and he has told me that the only reason he has applied for CSA is to wind me up as I wouldnt release some money out of childs trust fund as it is meant to be for when he is 18.
He looked after your joint boys and your joint daughter for a while too. He now still looks after both boys. Why should you have tried to claim CSA for one child when he was looking after two. He is now well within his rights to claim CSA from you particularly as you have a new partner. Sad but true.
Question Author
So he refused to pay for my daughter but now wants me to pay for my son, even though he has admitted he is doing it purely to wind me up!! As he and his wife told me so.
yea, but he's still looking after two of your children. So he should have paid you maintenance for one child and you should pay him maintenance for two children. You can't really complain. Sometimes it seems that people seem to think that only men should pay maintenance.
wouldn't normally be this harsh but he's YOUR SON!!! doesn't matter how much money your partner has YOU shoudl be contributing to the financial cost of bringing up your son.
And why did you go to the CSA when you only had one of three children living with you?
And why were the childern, who were very young at the time living with their day?
!!!!!!! dad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Question Author
I don't for one second think that I shouldnt pay for my son at all.Which also means that he should have paid for his daughter doesn't it??
So four years ago. The youngest was 9, next 12 and 14. And you think he should have paid for the 14yo. It doesn't make sence. I think you have got off lightly so far
Question Author
For those who have known me on here a long time they will know the story of the split - waaayyyy too long to go into but it involved violence.
No pinkfizz. He had two of your children to look after and support. You only had one.
