I've been separated 8 years and wish to start divorce proceedings. We have one child of 15.My relationship with my ex is totally amicable. I'm hoping for a "clean break" settlement and would agree to pay my ex half the value of the marital home which my daughter and I occupy.I inherited a large amount from my mum's estate in 2005 which I keep in separate accounts and could use for this purpose. My father is now 86 and I stand to inherit a large amount from HIS estate. I'm an only child. If my divorce is finalised before my father's death, does that mean that any inheritances will not have to be shared with my husband? And what if my father died BEFORE the divorce was finalised?
