My aged relative lives with us and it works very well.except she feels the cold and has to have the heating racked right up. We only have a small house with one living room so there is no escape.
I am melting and can hardly breathe. I am steaming in my shorts and t shirt.
Coping strategies, please.

Can she not wear more layers of clothes?
Question Author
She's huddled under a duvet and wearing more layers than an onion. She always feels the cold but of course I'm not always at home
Does she wear a wooly hat?
what about thermal vests and long johns mr mally wears them when he goes to football and keeps nice and warm x
Woolly hat even...
Question Author
I don't think I've ever seen her without a hat :D I'm just having a moan, I know there is nothing to be done about it.

I won't even mention the tv volume
Hot water bottle(s).
...as ear-muffs.
Hot drinks on the hour. Decrease the heating by 1 degree each 2 hours . Coul she not get hot from the steam emanating from your body. , it’s difficult times .
Presumably you both have bedrooms you can escape to.
You can get wonderful little overblankets like a throw but they plug in, I have one and use it on my bed as the other half doesn't like electric blankets - if I get really cold I move it downstairs and use it on the sofa as that is what it is designed for
Question Author
I'll try the electric throw, although I'm not sure she's safe round electricity as she has leaking parts. She's damp enough without my steam, anne.

I could also try burying up to her neck in hay, that's supposed to keep heat in. Might absorb the leakages, too
Hay ? What a great idea :-). Have you tried space blankets ?
put a thinner blanket on her first then the electric throw as that way its not directly on her - do you have incontinence pads for her?
could she have a tv in her bedroom x
Tena or Always pants should help. Always look more like regular pants.
I use a heating pad against my back when I don't want or need the heating on. Even on the lowest setting, it does wonders.
Grin and bare it Barry,
She like many of us
Oldies, will not be here forever
