Could someone clarify for me the law surrounding seat belt usage please.
Im led to believe that there are certain exemptions to the wearing of seatbelts in vehicles, ie cabbies (though I could be wrong)
I also thought (again probably wrongly) that delivery drivers were exempt from the wearing of seatbelts?? *IF* delivery drivers *ARE* exempt, then, by extention, are drivers mates also exempt?
Also...just to throw it all in the mix...are bus drivers also exempt?

Thanks for any clarification.

Are pregnant women exempt? If so, what about fatties?

Wearing a seat belt while pregnant
You must wear a seat belt if you’re pregnant, unless your doctor says you don’t have to for medical reasons.
Thanks mamy.

Thanks for the links Mamy and Sherr.
Still got a few questions that arnt answered tho. Will get back to this later, thank you.
I am always amazed why anyone would seek to exempt themselves from the seatbelt law.

Since gravity doesn't exempt you from a trip through your windscreen and over your bonnet at fatal speed because you are a cabby or delivery driver, why on earth would you not wear a set belt, ever?
