I've been with Lloyds for years, but for various reasons, they having been messing me around for some time. I don't do internet banking, so simply require a 'no frills' current a/c with debit card and cheque book...are you happy with YOUR bank and recommend? Thanks.

Yorkshire Bank since 1960. No problems.

Bank of Scotland through thick and thin.
Clydesdale have been OK for me. Same as Yorkshire now I think. (And just about to take over Virgin Money, formerly Northern Rock.)
Barclays...for the last 40 years no probs..
i thik the problem is that you will come across people who have had bad experiences and some that have had good with every bank. It's ot a big deal to change any more, so just pick one and try, knowing you can always change again.
PS i also left lloyds and was worried about doing so after 40 years, but it was fine. I am ow with santander and they have been fine
Yep, Barclays for about 40 years for me too. Very efficient and friendly.

Thank you!
I'm with Santander and Nationwide, never had any problems with either. Customer services have always been amazingly helpful and a both have pros and cons with the accounts.

I also have a revolut card and find that amazing when it comes to travelling and budgeting - as it lists everything you spend in terms of 'groceries' 'fuel' 'shopping' 'restaurants' etc, so I can see where my money is going. I know I could just log in and view my statement, but having it automatically grouped together is hugely beneficial for me.
Metrobank - open 7 days a week and they don't charge for cash withdrawals in Europe.

Thanks all...now have a few to consider.
WB21. The best digital bank. You can start an account online with ease. They charge only a less fee for international transactions. Its operational in 180 countries and works on 28 currencies.
you are in the 'least worst' bank contest

banks arent good or very good
they are bad, awful or TSB - and you need the "least worse" bank
top of the pile of awful

I have had only two banks in 60 y and golly have I paid for that ! Midland who closed my account without telling me or anyone else -like the manager of the nearest open Midland Bank - he scratched his head and said I dont know where its gone!

and RBS who sold me a duff offset account ( oo it only offsets at the end of the year - didnt they tell you that? - that was on April 10th.....) - and "it never offsets the capital amount of your mortgage anyway" - - [excuse me what did you just say ?]
and then I couldnt open a joint acct - because the computer said no .....

when the bank was owned by the Younger family rather than the gubmint and tax payer- I started writing and complaining to the widow of Sir George. I found this funnier than RBS did

Thanks PP. Still mulling everything over....esp after TSB fiasco. You're right ....none seem professional, reliable or trustworthy these days!
